The Workshop

Beyond the Horizon of Possibility

A monumental transition is necessary to slow down the ongoing climate crisis and create a society where we can thrive also in the future. However many of us experience the gap between “what is needed” and “what is possible” as large and difficult to bridge. The goal of the workshop Beyond the Horizon of Possibilities, which Omställningsnätverket (the Swedish branch of Transition Network) has developed in collaboration with Swedish univeristies KTH and Uppsala University, is to reduce that gap.

Do you long for conversations with different stakeholders in your community about what a local sustainability transition to a regenerative low-carbon society could look like and how it could work? This workshop is a tool for supporting conversations that can make sustainability transitions feel possible and create a local context where concern and care can be converted into action, in collaboration with others.

You can host a workshop

This workshop has been devised for people who long for conversations with different stakeholders in their community about what a local sustainability transition to a regenerative low-carbon society could look like and how it could work. It has been designed specifically for people who wish to invite others to such a conversation.

You do not have to be an expert, or work professionally with related issues – all you need to do is to invite people to the workshop.

The materials are available for both face-to-face and online workshops, so you can choose which format works best for your context.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

1-2 hours to familiarise yourself with the workshop material and send out invitations.

4-5 hours for the actual workshop, including initial preparations.

Someone else who can help out during the workshop (about 4 hours). Not absolutely necessary, but nice to have.

A couple of hours to arrange a follow-up meeting after the workshop
If you run an online workshop: a computer with a camera, microphone and Internet connection.

If you run a face-to-face workshop: a suitable venue for 5-15 people for about 4 hours.
